Operations Analyst (Shipping)

Job Description

Our clients structure and manage shipping investments for institutional investors through the ownership of vessels. Their team in Limassol, Cyprus is growing and looking for an Operations Analyst to work closely with senior management in Cyprus and the UK. You will be heavily involved in the S&P function of the operations team. You will report to the Operations/HSSEQ Manager based in Cyprus.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Sale and Purchase 
  1. Work together with the investment manager to provide necessary pre-S&P information 
  2. Manage the delivery of vessels including UWI, pre-joiners, delivery notices, registration etc
  • Reporting and Analysis
  1. Preparation and updating of quarterly and ad-hoc investor reports
  2. Tasks as requested/assigned by the Operations/HSSEQ Manager
  • Insurance
  1. Manage and follow up of insurance issues, claims, post fixture, demurrage & bunkers 
  2. Assist in insurance placement negotiations
  • Commercial Operations
  1. Manage and supervise the technical managers’ operations team
  2. Responsible for time-charter/spot operations for adherence to CP and granting ad-hoc approvals for CP deviations inter alia in trading and/or cargo including delivery and redelivery of vessels
  3. Provide input to relevant commercial contracts during pre-fixture
  4. Manage speed/consumption performance claims or other claims raised by Charterers of the parties
  5. Manage and resolve operational emergencies 
  6. Hire and invoice control
  7. Review Pool performances & distributions
  8. Tasks as requested/assigned by the Operations/HSSEQ Manager

Your Profile:

  • Degree in shipping studies or engineering and 5 years of shore-side operations and S&P experience
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Strong knowledge of the marine industry and applicable rules and regulations.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and learning 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
