We are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager who can deliver results in a fast-paced environment and drive Sales through the Sales team. The Director of Business Development will be responsible for driving new business for the company and managing the team for supporting business development initiatives. He/she should work closely with Marketing, Operations and top management to develop the business development strategy and the implementation of it. Measures of success include new customer acquisition rates, renewal rates, up-selling, cross-selling, customer satisfaction and contribution to overall business development team and company success.

Your key purpose is to develop and implement the Business Development strategies, which will contribute towards the growth of the company and increase of sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops the Department’s Strategy, targets and KPIs for the business development team
  • Communicates the goals and manages the business development teams as to ensure that action plans are implemented and suggest changes that will support the company’s core objectives
  • Recruits and motivates business-orientated teams accountable for the achievement of corporate and individual targets, ensuring that comprehensive performance appraisal and development opportunities are provided in accordance with the company’s human resources strategy and employment policies
  • Provides advice and guidance to managers and staff on all aspects of market development and increase of Sales
  • Develops close working relationships with other key functions in the company (Software Development, Marketing, Presales) to keep them aware of, and seeks their views on initiatives and changes to ensure that there is a coordinated approach to these
  • Maintains regular contact with customers to keep them aware of business developments and to seek feedback from them so that the company can effectively implement a strategy of continuous improvement
  • Seeks, identifies key players and generates new partnership opportunities with clients and vendors. Identifies and supports cross-selling and cross-marketing opportunities
  • Maintains long-term trusting relationships with potential clients, influencers and key stakeholders
  • Develops and monitors budgets for all customer projects
  • Manages initiatives and content for RFPs
  • Develops content and delivers dynamic presentations that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition
  • Maintains an awareness of developments in the fields of change and development to ensure that the company continues to take advantage of the latest thinking in these areas

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Advanced degree in business or a related field. MBA will be considered as an advantage
  • 10+ years of sales experience, preferably in an IT company, with proven ability to manage, coach and motivate large and diverse teams
  • Proven track record with achievements in Sales
  • Knowledge of IT systems
  • Understanding of diverse business functions and principles (e.g., Operations, IT, Procurement etc.)
  • Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Ability to clearly discuss technical concepts with prospective clients
  • Highly organised individual
  • Proactive mindset and strategic thinking
  • Comfortable with risk and entrepreneurial by nature
  • Fluent written and spoken Greek and English
