Main purpose of the Role:

Our client is currently looking for an experienced Security Operations Center Manager based in Athens. The SOC Manager will be responsible in the design of Department’s Strategy, processes and KPIs while acting as a liaison with internal and external clients

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of SOC analysts in a 24x7 working environment
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to SOC analysts, promoting professional growth and fostering a high-performing team culture
  • Manage incident response and escalation for high severity security incidents
  • Manage incident investigations, forensic investigations and analysis where needed
  • Management of the SOC Analysts team and their shifts
  • Leading and motivating department’s staff and promotes employee engagement, involving HR and Marketing department
  • Coordinate with Client’s teams for threat containment, incident eradication, system patching, and defensive security infrastructure implementations where needed
  • Engage with external agencies / regulatory bodies for threat intelligence sharing & gathering
  • Perform regular operations meetings
  • Coordinate trainings as part of Company’s standard MSS practices
  • Author and manage Client deliverables
  • Onboarding new members in the SOC team and evaluate current employees
  • Develop procedures, guidelines and deliverables for the specific Client’s environment requirements
  • Management and coordination of 24/7 SOC operations and enforcement of SOC policies and procedures
  • Develops and Leads new services development initiatives

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • At least 6+ years of experience in the SOC field, as a SOC Manager and/or as a Team Leader and/or as a Senior SOC Analyst
  • Experience as an Infrastructure Operations Manager is also considered
  • Experience in large scale projects
  • Degree in IT or relevant
  • Experience in managing Teams
  • Customer centric with advanced communication skills
  • Proficient in Incident Management and Response
  • Experience in security device management and SIEM
  • In-depth knowledge of security concepts such as cyber-attacks and techniques, threat vectors, risk management, incident management etc.
  • Experience in threat management
  • Knowledge of various operating system flavors including but not limited to Windows, Linux, Unix
  • Knowledge of applications, databases, middleware to address security threats against the same.
  • Proficient in preparation of reports, dashboards and documentation
  • SLA / Contract Management is considered very important. Service Level Management should be defined prior to the SLAs
  • Change Management process / Continue Service Improvement process
  • Suggest Updates to the Service Catalogue with new services according to the Business Plan of the company as well as the feedback of the customers and the requirements by the market.
  • Customer Satisfaction Surveys regarding the provided services. Evaluate the need for improvement of the existing Services or initiation of new ones
  • Training Plan for existing and new services to all involved parties for the successful operation of the provided service
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
