Job Description
Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (AMLCO) 40K - 45K gross plus benefits
About the Company
Our client is a well-established and regulated Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) based in Cyprus, operating at the intersection of sophisticated investment strategies and complex asset management.
With a strong international footprint, the firm specializes in managing and advising on high-value, structurally intricate investments across real estate, private equity, hedge funds, and multi-strategy portfolios. Backed by a broader group recognized for handling complex and distressed assets, the organization combines deep technical expertise with a forward-thinking, solutions-driven approach.
This is not a traditional, slow-moving environment. It’s a place for professionals who want exposure to challenging structures, real decision-making impact, and a seat close to senior leadership.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact AMLCO role where you will operate at the core of the business, working directly with senior management and the Board.
You won’t just “maintain compliance.” You will shape it, challenge it, and elevate it.
If you’re looking for a role where your voice matters, where you can influence governance, and where complexity keeps you sharp — this is it.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and continuously enhance the firm’s AML and compliance framework
- Review and challenge internal policies, procedures, and controls to ensure full regulatory alignment
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and the Board on compliance risks and regulatory developments
- Oversee AML/KYC processes, corporate governance practices, and operational controls across the business
- Prepare and present detailed compliance reports to the Board of Directors
- Stay ahead of regulatory changes and translate them into actionable business practices
- Drive a strong compliance culture through training, guidance, and proactive engagement with teams
- Act as the primary contact with regulatory authorities, including handling investigations and requests
- Implement and maintain a robust risk-based approach for client classification and monitoring
- Identify, assess, and mitigate AML risks across new and existing clients, products, and services
- Evaluate third-party providers to ensure compliance standards are met
- Prepare and submit all required regulatory reports (CySEC, MOKAS, etc.) accurately and on time
What We’re Looking For
- CySEC AML Certification (essential)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an AMLCO or similar senior compliance role
- Experience within an AIFM or under AIFM/AIF regulatory frameworks is a strong advantage
- Strong understanding of regulatory expectations and risk-based compliance approaches
- Ability to operate under pressure and manage multiple priorities without losing precision
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and reporting tools)
- A proactive, hands-on mindset — someone who doesn’t wait to be told what to fix
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders
- Fluency in both English and Greek (written and verbal)
Why This Role Stands Out
- Direct exposure to senior leadership and Board-level decision making
- A dynamic environment with complex, intellectually challenging work
- Real influence — not just ticking boxes
- Opportunity to build and shape compliance frameworks in a growing organization
