Job Description
Our client is a privately owned investment and holding company based in Larnaca, Cyprus, with a focused portfolio of pharmaceutical and fast-moving consumer goods investments across Europe. Following a major acquisition, the company became the top holding entity of a multinational pharmaceutical group, coordinating strategic and operational activities across multiple European Group entities. This is a business with real scale, ambition, and an international footprint — operating from a beautiful coastal base in Cyprus. Based in Larnaca, Cyprus | Willingness to travel as required
The Opportunity
This is a rare, high-visibility Group-level role for an experienced Business Continuity professional who wants real influence rather than a back-office function. You will work directly with the Chief Compliance Officer to design and embed a unified Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) across the entire Group — shaping how the organisation prepares for, responds to, and recovers from disruption, from cyber incidents to supply chain failures.
You'll act as Secretary to the Group Compliance Committee, giving you a genuine seat at the table where strategic risk decisions are made. This isn't a role buried in policy documents — you'll be coaching senior leaders, running crisis simulations, building dashboards that leadership actually uses, and driving a culture of resilience across multiple countries and business functions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Acting as secretary to the Group Compliance Committee, driving action plans and reporting progress to senior leadership
- Designing and rolling out a Group-wide BCMS aligned with ISO 22301 and relevant regulatory frameworks
- Leading Business Impact Analyses across manufacturing, quality, supply chain, R&D, and commercial functions
- Building training programmes and a culture of resilience among business continuity leaders across Group entities
- Running crisis simulations, tabletop exercises, and readiness drills, and embedding lessons learned
- Monitoring emerging risks (cyber, geopolitical, regulatory, environmental) and translating these into continuity priorities
- Ensuring continuity practices align with pharmaceutical regulatory expectations (FDA, EMA, MHRA, WHO, PIC/S)
What We're Looking For
- A solid working knowledge of business continuity and crisis management frameworks (e.g. ISO 22301) and demonstrable experience applying this in practice — not just theoretical exposure
- A background rooted in Operations, with business continuity, crisis management, or resilience planning as a core part of that role — not a peripheral or one-off project
- Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and able to influence without direct authority over local teams
- Confident building structure, frameworks, and reporting tools from the ground up
- Calm, pragmatic, and collaborative — someone who builds buy-in rather than imposing process
- Experience in regulated, multi-site, or multinational environments (pharma, FMCG, financial services, or similarly complex organisations) is a strong advantage
- Fluent English required
Why This Role
This is a genuine career-defining opportunity — a Group-level seat with direct exposure to the Chief Compliance Officer and senior leadership across a multinational organisation. You'll be the architect of something new, building a function from a strong strategic mandate rather than inheriting someone else's mess.
Relocation to Cyprus is supported, and candidates relocating from abroad may benefit from Cyprus's attractive 50% personal tax exemption for new residents — making this an excellent lifestyle and financial proposition alongside the professional opportunity.
